In my last post I mentioned that Debbie and I went shopping for stuff to make costumes. We needed costumes because Friday night we went to the annual library staff party, and the invitation said there was going to be a prize awarded for the best luau outfit. So we got grass skirts and hawaiian shirts and Debbie borrowed a lei from her friend for herself and made one for me. Almost everyone wore Hawaiian shirts, and there were a few girls with flowers in their hair, and of course they handed out leis to everyone. After we ate, they had everyone in costume stand up to show, and then announced the winner based on the response from the rest of the group.
Totally unexpected result... I won! I was so excited! Here's a picture of me and the library director with my prize. (Sorry the director's head got cut off.)

And here's a picture of Debbie and me in our costumes

Congratulations! We love the costumes (although we would like to see Debbie in her grass skirt doing the hula).
Yeah, like that's ever going to happen! :-D
