While I was growing up, I never really thought I had any artistic talent. This is not surprising considering the fact that my older sister is amazingly artistic and I was, of course, comparing myself to her. As I matured, however I discovered that I do indeed have some small art skills, just not the 'sit down and create a masterpiece' kind. I'm very good at seeing pictures in random designs, like variegated carpets, and plastered ceilings. And, ta-da! I can draw great scribble pictures! These that I used to create this blog background are my collected scribble-art for the past I don't know how many years. Most of them were probably drawn while I was in college - during lectures where I had to do something to keep myself awake. I'm sure that some of them are also from Sunday meetings, for the same reason.
Here are the rules I use for creating a scribble picture:
1 - draw a random scribble - preferably with your eyes closed
2 - rotate and study the resulting mess until you find a recognizable object - I usually see heads
3 - darken the lines that make the picture
4 - DO NOT add any other lines unless it's a really really good picture and you just have to embellish it
Following the above steps gets you from this random scribble:
to this funky picture of a grumpy old man:

That is super duper creative. P.s. Thank you for catching on that I wasn't really going to med school! Haha :)
Amazing! I remember the scribble art, but I didn't know you still had some sketches.
Thanks for the fun reminder.
