real men don't have to be macho

I saw something awesome at work today.  A twenty-something guy wandering around looking at books -  holding his toddler daughter's hand and carrying a potty-seat - the kind you put on a regular toilet so the kid won't fall in.  That is a real man right there.

I think that's real nice he was in a library holding his daughter's hand and looking at books. I think he should have left the potty seat at home. You have to admit that's a little weird.

Dennis - are you saying you're too macho to carry a potty seat around if your kid is potty-training?

I'm saying that from experience, it's not necessary. You can just hold them up there. If he was carrying it for some other reason, say a cool hat or he just bought it off Craig's list and they wanted to meet at the public library...
But there's no doubt all of it qualifies for him being a man. Just a little weird which we admire.

I am with Dennis on this one ... a potty seat in the LIBRARY? I probably would have taken a photo of that and blogged about it. :)

awesome. i love that guy. i bet his little girl is afraid of the big potty and he was being considerate of her fears/needs.

But the point is . . . if a male person has to hide behind a macho facade, he must be pretty insecure in his masculinity. It takes a real man to nonchalantly carry something to help his daughter go potty. Or maybe he was just absent minded or absorbed in the books and didn't realize what he was carrying.
